False Creek Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver is separated from the rest of Vancouver by a short inlet called False Creek. It is a very popular boating area, including dragon boating, canoeing, kayaking, public ferries, visiting pleasure boats, and charter ships. There are several paddling clubs and boat rental facilities. It is a good spot for novice kayakers because it is fairly well sheltered from the waves and wind of the open ocean; the waters seldom get very rough. False Creek has also been the venue for the Canadian International Dragon Boat Festival.

An easy and convenient form of transportation is with the Aquabus and water taxis, which offer passenger service around False Creek. They stop at Science World, Plaza of Nations, Yaletown, and Granville Island. The water taxi service from Granville Island offers regularly scheduled water taxi service from False Creek.

The next two photos are of the new Olympic Athletes Village, which is still under construction but will be ready for the coming 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The boat that is passing is a cruise ship that can be rented out for special occassions such as weddings or private functions.
































The shot below is of the Aquabus ferry that we took around False Creek. On this outing we had lunch at Monk's McQueen Fresh Seafood and Oyster Bar, which has a great patio right on the water and has a good view of downtown Vancouver. After lunch we took the Aquabus ferry around, we pretended it was our "cruise ship". For the two of us, we went all around, had a stop at Granville Island and returned to our car for $20.















Our captain was very friendly and was a good tour guide too. She answered all our questions. She thought it was funny that we were so excited to be on the Aquabus and we are from Squamish, which is only an hour away. I guess we don't get out much...
















The next three pictures are of Monk's McQueens Fresh Seafood and Oyster Bar where we had lunch. You can see the great patio, the marina next door, and the Aquabus actually stops right next to the patio.
















































My partner, Aimie, with the dome of Science World in the background. Science World is at the eastern end of False Creek and Burrard Bridge is at the western end. There are two other bridges, Cambie Bridge and Granville Bridge that also span the water.

Night Out Service

Night-out service, is another service that we can offer. If you and your friends are looking for transportation to see your favourite concert or sporting event but can't find a hotel or don't want to stay in Vancouver or Whistler for the night, we can help.

We have even chauffeured groups of ladies on their stagette or bachelorette party. The picture is our vehicle fully accessorized with streamers and the "Bachelorette Kit".

On stagettes, singing to your driver is optional but making your driver sing is an additional cost...(just kidding)

But seriously, because of the nature of these outings, we always require a credit card for reservation and for damage deposit. We do not mind eating and drinking in the vehicle, as long as there is no damage to the vehicle from spills or stains. Any damage or extra clean up costs will be charged to your credit card.
