Fresh Snow & Blue Skies!

We finally had the chance to go skiing and it was amazing! With over 32 inches of new snow in the last week and blue skies for most of the day, it was great. There is still lots of snow and lots more to come in the next week. They are predicting another 12 - 18 inches in the next few days.

I managed to get a few pictures from the Rendezvous Lodge on Blackcomb Mountain. This one is of the new Peak 2 Peak from the lodge.

Some kids in ski school, enjoying the day lodge.

Hungry yet?

My partner, Aimie..."Always On-Duty".

There is still lots of snow and Whistler Blackcomb has revised its late spring operating dates to offer skiing and riding through May 18 on Blackcomb Mountain and snowpack permitting until June 14 on Whistler Mountain. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park will open on Saturday, May 16. Summer sightseeing will begin May 16.

Welcome & Stanley Park

Welcome to our blog for Alpine North Limousine! Where we plan on providing up to date information on:

- upcoming events
- travel information
- highway construction information
- weather and snow conditions
- sightseeing opportunities along the way
- answering frequently asked questions

We will be mostly posting pictures of our adventures in the Vancouver and Whistler area. If you see something you want to do yourself, just ask your driver and he would love to guide you on your own personalized tour.

Here are some views from a lookout at Stanley Park in Vancouver on tuesday, March 10, 2009. These two pictures are overlooking Burrard Inlet, the Lion's Gate Bridge, and the suburbs of North/West Vancouver.

The park is over 1000 acres big and has huge old-growth cedars and douglas fir trees. There is a smooth asphalt path, known as the "Seawall" (8.8km loop) that follows the coast around the entire park, it is perfect for rollerblading, biking, or walking. You are almost guaranteed to see ducks, Canada geese, Great Blue Herons, and raccoons.

The park also offers the Children's Farmyard, a miniature train, gardens, arts, dining, the Vancouver Aquarium, and lots of sporting activities such as lawn bowling, tennis, or biking. (Bicycles and rollerblades are available for rent nearby)

On our rollerbladding trip on tuesday we saw a few Great Blue Herons and several raccoons suntanning in the trees (I forgot to take pictures because I was so amazed that I was seeing this right in the heart of downtown Vancouver!).

On your limousine ride from the airport to Whistler, the highway takes you through the center of Stanley Park and it is very easy to take a short drive around the park. Don't forget to ask your driver if you would like to stop for some pictures or take a tour.
